X PLATOON® is a premier wilderness training, outdoor survival, specialised shooting and team development company, headed up by a highly decorated, former Elite Forces soldier.
Our aim is to draw people away from electronic screens and place them back into the natural world, equipping them with a unique knowledge of how to successfully operate in a wild environment.
Since the 1950’s the invention of television and the rapid rate of technological advancement has gradually allowed people to lose touch with nature. The concrete jungle and rat race suck up time and energy making people feel stressed, anxious and that their lives have lost meaning. Many people don’t realise that there is a wonderful natural world just waiting to be explored and that they have more abilities than they realise.

Kids who used to climb trees now find their escape by immersing themselves in life-like video games such as Call of Duty or Grand Theft Auto. The massive popularity of 'remote survival' television shows prove that our nation is craving both nature and adventure. Combined with the relentless media coverage of international terrorism, more and more families are looking to their home country for leisure pursuits and parents concerned that their children are spending too much time staring at screens are keen to get them active again. Interest in The Great Outdoors has never been greater.
This Is Where X PLATOON Come In.
We are going to show people how to reconnect with nature and really enjoy themselves being outdoors again. X PLATOON attendees will sleep under the stars in a shelter that they have made for themselves. They will learn how to create and maintain a fire using only natural resources and how to purify dirty water and make it drinkable, along with a vast array of other usable 'real life' skills. The information that X PLATOON will share can not only change people's lives, but can save lives too. It is a sad but common knowledge that we are living in turbulent times; dangerous situations can develop in the most unexpected places. After attending our Field Medical and Emergency Response course you will be equipped with the understanding, knowhow and confidence to react quickly, making yourself and those around you safe and then being able to immediately deal with whatever injuries you see in front of you.

Our students recently attended a weekend camp at X Platoon and have absolutely loved the experience of learning how to build shelters, make campfires, purify water and navigate using the sun and stars. Everyone involved thoroughly enjoyed tackling the X Platoon obstacle course. The set up was very professional and the instructor, Steve Heaney MC, was both knowledgeable and very personable. He fully engaged and enthused the students with all of the activities and is also a fabulous cook! We will defininetly be visiting again.

Steve Heaney MC has actively engaged with the objectives of the programme and integrated some excellent skills into a series of bespoke sessions to players and staff. The expertise and experiences Steve has accumulated are easily transferrable to the elite sporting environment and serve as a great tool to support the coaching and education programme.
