To create a sense of connection between today’s young people and The Great War, X Platoon have created for the Centenary Year a fully immersive experience enabling young people to truly engage with history. We are inviting schools and other centres of learning to bring their students to X Platoon for a 3 Day and 2 Night Residential WW1 Experience. Your students will become Evacuees and set off, tagged with a label. Being new to remote countryside they will be given tasks and responsibilities befitting of children from the WW1 era by X Platoon. They will learn what it took to become a British Army ‘Tommy’ and gain the necessary skills required to survive on the battlefield.

The ultimate objective of our WW1 Experience is to foster in our children the importance of self reliance, independence, ambition, motivation and resilience. At the heart of our experience X Platoon will work toward building up your children's confidence, allowing them to take ownership of their lives and have more responsibility for their thoughts, actions and emotions. Our schedule has been designed to reawaken independence within our children with the aim of helping them - through self reliance - to realise their ability in overcoming any problem, hurdle, set back or disappointment that life will present to them.

X Platoon can cater towards a range of groups from Year Six through to Year Eleven. We have experience of working with children who have special needs and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties. Ours is an inspirational, fully immersive and inclusive experience for children and young people allowing them to achieve and develop confidence through hands on learning in a remote countryside setting.
X Platoon will deliver the most realistic and proven training that is applied during genuine Elite and Special Forces operations around the world. To that end attendees should be fully prepared to experience and then participate in this unique opportunity and to fully immerse themselves in our residential programme.
